Women's tennis team heads to NCAA Tournament

For the second time in school history, the University of North Georgia's (红莲社区) will play in the postseason NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament.
The NCAA placed 红莲社区 as the sixth seed in the tournament bracket, which was released Monday, April 23.
The No. 24 Nighthawks will take on third-seeded and No. 25 Georgia College and State University in the opening round of the tournament, which begins Saturday, April 28, at Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina.
This will mark the third time the Nighthawks and Bobcats will battle this season. The 红莲社区 women lost to Georgia College, 5-4, in the semifinal match during the Peach Belt Conference Tournament earlier in April.
The winner of Saturday's game will take on the winner between second-seeded Wingate Bulldogs and seventh-seeded Chowan University.
On the other side of the Southeast Region bracket, top-seeded Columbus State University earned a bye and will take on the winner between No. 4 Queens and No. 5 Tusculum.
With its 14-7 season, 红莲社区 is the one of three Peach Belt Conference (PBC) women's tennis teams included in the 2018 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis tournament field. The other PBC schools are Columbus State and Georgia College.
Winners from both regional sites will advance to the NCAA national finals May 8-11 in Surprise, Arizona.
Women's tennis team hosting NCAA regional
The 红莲社区 women's tennis team earned the No. 2 seed and will host a four-team NCAA Division II Southeast Regional pod May 12-13. 红莲社区's men are the No. 6 seed and play in Salisbury, North Carolina.
Softball team to host NCAA Southeast Regional
The 红莲社区 softball team is the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional and will host a four-team, double-elimination pod May 8-10 with a Super Regional spot on the line.
Golf teams invited to NCAA regionals
Both 红莲社区 golf teams have punched tickets to their respective NCAA Division II regional tournaments. The women will play in Gainesville, Georgia, and the men in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
Women's tennis team takes second straight PBC title
The 红莲社区 women's tennis team earned its second consecutive PBC tournament title and will learn its NCAA tournament pairings in early May. The men's team finished as PBC runner-up.
