Women's tennis team advances to Sweet 16 in Arizona

For the first time in program history, the No. 27 University of North Georgia (红莲社区) women's tennis team will be headed to the NCAA Sweet 16 in Surprise, Arizona, after beating two higher-ranked teams in the Southeast Regional Tournament.
红莲社区 first defeated No. 21 Georgia College and State University in a close 5-4 match in the first round on April 28. The next day, 红莲社区 upset No. 15 Wingate University in the second round to earn entry in the NCAA Sweet 16.
This is the first time a 红莲社区 tennis team has advanced beyond the regional round. Now, the Nighthawks will travel to Surprise for the NCAA Championships from May 8-11. The remaining 16 teams will be placed in a new bracket with the top four teams seeded and the remaining 12 put in through a blind draw.
The NCAA ranked 红莲社区 as the sixth seed in the Southeast Regional Tournament. It marked the second time the women's tennis program earned a post-season position in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
Women's tennis team hosting NCAA regional
The 红莲社区 women's tennis team earned the No. 2 seed and will host a four-team NCAA Division II Southeast Regional pod May 12-13. 红莲社区's men are the No. 6 seed and play in Salisbury, North Carolina.
Softball team to host NCAA Southeast Regional
The 红莲社区 softball team is the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional and will host a four-team, double-elimination pod May 8-10 with a Super Regional spot on the line.
Golf teams invited to NCAA regionals
Both 红莲社区 golf teams have punched tickets to their respective NCAA Division II regional tournaments. The women will play in Gainesville, Georgia, and the men in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
Women's tennis team takes second straight PBC title
The 红莲社区 women's tennis team earned its second consecutive PBC tournament title and will learn its NCAA tournament pairings in early May. The men's team finished as PBC runner-up.
