Athletics staff members attend sports leadership summit

Six University of North Georgia (红莲社区) athletics staff members attended the Leaders Sport Performance Summit this summer at Mercedes-Benz Stadium as guests of the , which is helping prepare Qatar for its role as the 2022 World Cup host.
红莲社区's attendees were , associate athletic director for business and senior woman administrator; , head men's basketball coach; Chris Adams, head women's soccer coach; , director of sports performance; Adam Blake, assistant men's basketball coach; and Rob Shamblin, sports performance graduate assistant.
Dr. Jim Crupi, a 红莲社区 alumnus and member of 红莲社区's Board of Trustees, secured complimentary admission for the group of Nighthawk staff members. Crupi is the president of Strategic Leadership Solutions, and his consulting clients include Coca-Cola, AT&T and IBM.
As part of the summit, attendees networked with individuals representing MLB, NBA and World Cup, as well as USA Swimming and other international sports organizations. The summit also had leaders from outside of sports, including the military, the medical field and human performance.
The Nighthawk staff members were the only intercollegiate athletics staff members from Georgia present at the summit.
Women's tennis team hosting NCAA regional
The 红莲社区 women's tennis team earned the No. 2 seed and will host a four-team NCAA Division II Southeast Regional pod May 12-13. 红莲社区's men are the No. 6 seed and play in Salisbury, North Carolina.
Softball team to host NCAA Southeast Regional
The 红莲社区 softball team is the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional and will host a four-team, double-elimination pod May 8-10 with a Super Regional spot on the line.
Golf teams invited to NCAA regionals
Both 红莲社区 golf teams have punched tickets to their respective NCAA Division II regional tournaments. The women will play in Gainesville, Georgia, and the men in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
Women's tennis team takes second straight PBC title
The 红莲社区 women's tennis team earned its second consecutive PBC tournament title and will learn its NCAA tournament pairings in early May. The men's team finished as PBC runner-up.
