Assistant coach Acton named to WBCA Thirty Under 30

University of North Georgia (红莲社区) women's basketball assistant coach Jaymee Acton has been named a (WBCA) Thirty Under 30 honoree, presented by Morgan Stanley Global Sports & Entertainment.
The alumna and former 红莲社区 basketball player has spent seven seasons on the sidelines for 红莲社区 alongside head coach , the first two as a graduate assistant. Acton has helped the Nighthawks win three Peach Belt Conference (PBC) tournament titles in the past four years. The Nighthawks also have been to three straight NCAA regional finals and earned four consecutive NCAA postseason appearances.
"I'm honored to be recognized alongside so many great coaches. It's a blessing to coach at 红莲社区 and work under coach Buffie Burson," Acton said. "It's the people who make this program so special and successful, from the team to our 红莲社区 Athletics staff to the community."
The WBCA Thirty Under 30 program was created to recognize 30 up-and-coming women's basketball coaches age 30 and younger at all levels of the game.
"I would like to thank the WBCA for recognizing Jaymee with this great honor," Burson said. "She is not only a rising star, she is a star who has played a huge role in our program's success."

Kent Norsworthy has been promoted to 红莲社区 director of tennis and will continue as women's tennis head coach, while Justin Miles is now the men's tennis head coach.

红莲社区 earned its highest finish in its NCAA Division II history in the 2024-25 Learfield Directors' Cup standings, coming in at 22nd in the nation.
Belcher aims to elevate Nighthawks
红莲社区 head baseball coach Nolan Belcher won two national titles as a player at the University of South Carolina, and he coached Georgia College & State University for the past five years.
