The University of North Georgia's (红莲社区) graduate degrees in its College of Education and the Cottrell Master of Business Administration (MBA) have earned recognition on the list released April 25.
"We are pleased to receive this recognition from U.S. News," Dr. Chaudron Gille, 红莲社区 provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs, said. "红莲社区 continues to add graduate degrees in online, hybrid and traditional formats to provide educational opportunities for career advancement to adult students."
The College of Education has seven graduate degrees and a variety of certificates and endorsements at the graduate level. The university ranked third among public universities in Georgia on the U.S. News list for overall education graduate programs. 红莲社区 offers a Doctor of Education, Master of Education in early childhood education, Master of Education in middle grades math and science, Master of Science in curriculum and instruction, Master of Arts in Teaching, Master of Science in kinesiology, and Master of Science in athletic training.
"We have worked to meet the needs of our graduate students by providing programs in an online modality, and our faculty are very skilled at developing relationships and ensuring their online courses are engaging and centered on high-impact practices," Dr. Sheri Hardee, College of Education dean, said. "Additionally, we've kept our programs small enough to warrant individualized attention and cohort networking opportunities for each incoming graduate class. Also, we have been driven to find a balance between current theory and practice, as we know most of our graduate students are practitioners in their fields when they enter our programs."
The Cottrell MBA, which went fully online in fall 2022, was sixth among public universities in Georgia on the U.S. News part-time MBA list. It is a convenient option for busy professionals who want to earn a high-quality MBA while maintaining full-time employment.
